Great ideas here. The last few years have convinced me that sabots and single bases is definitely the way to go. Consequently i have constant orders to Martin at Warbases.

I’m basing all my new 28mm infantry on 20mm or 25mm mdf rounds, with holes for magnets, and using sabots if I’m putting together units on a single base. I explain why I like the magnet in the base here https://dereksweetoys.com/flexible-basing-and-saboting-2-turning-things-upside-down/ and mush prefer rounds to squares. Two reasons, to my mind round bases look much better than square ones if you’re playing skirmish games and they give you flexibility in ranking up as you can move the models to different angles on the sabot.
